Hi,

has anyone found syntax that can set the instance of "new SlideShow.Control" to point to one single album? I'm trying to get the slideshow control to load and show only one album, without having the albumviewer or even the navigation tray visible on the page. That way, I can have a given page display only the album I want THAT page to have. I tried this:

new SlideShow.Control(new SlideShow.XmlConfigProvider({ url: "Configuration.xml" }));

SlideShow.SlideShowNavigation.currentAlbumIndex="2";

(assuming that albumIndex can be "0", "1" and so on)...but this does not work. Any suggestions? Thanks much!

Using Slide.Show, not SL2.

In my config file, I'm using the dataprovider option:

On my page, I'm wanting to use a different slide show than on other pages. If I use a different data.xml (data1, data2, data3.xml, etc. etc.) and enter multiple options, can I call the one I want in my page script. Otherwise, is there a way to call separate <album> instances within one data.xml file?

Anyone with an example of using this, please give a suggestion. I'm trying various syntax, but am learning C# so I might be doing trial and error for a while.

I need a hint as to how to change the slide show from fade to wipe transition. Both are in the <transitions> of the config file, but only the fades work.

I am using as a web part with sharepoint data provider. It will successfully work if I have only 18 or less photos in the library after I add the 19 photo the web part goes blank.

I had Slide.show stop working a while ago also under firefox and just realized thanks to this thread that I have the same problem (thanks to firebug). Would it be possible to post a fixed javascript file? Error is : this.host.settings is undefined (line 6 which isn't super helpful). If the slideshow won't work under firefox, it's not terribly useful as a general slideshow tool since a good fraction of visitors will get a blank space.

I *think* I followed the quick start guide...

This is the page I am trying to input the slideshow into (in the blank space in the center)

As you see, nothing is showing there and I have no clue why. I uploaded all the files that I downloaded with the package (other than the images folder & README file); to my root directory. The webpage is on my root directory. I edited the Data.xml to use the images I wanted to use (I am starting simple in order to just get it working, and using 2 images.

Any suggestions would be MUCH appreciated... Thanks in advance!

What version of slideshow are you using?

I am using version 1.2 and have problems with Firefox, I get the black rectangle with no controls visible. Chrome and IE work fine. I was going to try upgrading to version 2, but don’t want to waste the time if there are issues with that version too.

I solved this.

The config file as defined in the video does not work. I walked though the code in a debugger and found that the the xml script as as typed in the video was throwing errors. The configuration files from any of the samples actually work...

Note to Codeplex - You may to remove or update the video.

Hello, I've just taken over a website that uses Slide.Show, so I'm struggling a bit to debug this error. Our slideshow appears correctly in both IE and Chrome, but not in FireFox 9.0.1. The problem seems to have started with the 9.0.0 release. FireBug can only tell me "this.host.settings is undefined" and refer me to the Slide.Show.js file. We have an .asp (moving to .aspx...someday) site, if that helps/matters. I'd be glad to provide any other information you might need. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Using the quick start guide I got the "black box" and then the control to appear after about 5 minutes of effort, but I cannot get the images defined in data.xml to display.

All the files are in the same directory.

I have tried everything I can think of including defining both relative absolute locations for data.xml (using the same technique as the “How To” video).

I also tried deploying the page and all the associated files to my webserver (just in case it was something local to my Windows 7 machine) but still can’t the slide show control to display the pictures.

Any ideas are welcome – Thanks!

Does anyone know where to make the adjustment so all albums show on the 1st page and not go to a 2nd page? I'm trying to figure out where I make the edit in the code to do this.

New Post: Picasa sample wants me to install silverlight

When I start the project in VS, I get to the page where I can choose the different samples.

All the samples work, except the first one "Picasa" (This sample is a simple slideshow in LightTheme. It uses the PicasaDataProvider for data.)

The Default page shows, but only with the button "Install Microsoft SIlverlight".

I cannot figure out what the difference is with all the other ones.

I have rectified the problem. There was an issue in path to the Silverlight object. I was using the path in “ ../ClientBin/Vertigo.SlideShow.xap” format. I changed it to “/ClientBin/Vertigo.SlideShow.xap”. It is working now.

I am facing a problem in my asp.net application. It’s not working with “ASP.net 4.0: URL Routing”. I have a page named “product.aspx”. If the page opens directly, the control will work perfectly. But control is not visible, if I open the page through URL Routing.

Please help.
