Slide.Show is an open source Silverlight control for publishing highly-customizable photo slideshows on the Web. In a hurry to upgrade?...then download the SlideShowReleaseScripts-1.2.zip file for the minimum files needed to upgrade your existing Slide.Show slideshows. Want it all?...then download the SlideShowSource-1.2.zip file for complete source code, samples, and documentation. Please note that although this release is 100% compatible with Silverlight 2, Slide.Show was originally written in javascript for Silverlight 1.0 and does not provide a XAP file for deployment. Stay tuned, however, for the forthcoming release of Slide.Show 2 for Silverlight 2 written entirely in managed code and with many cool new features!
What's New?
- Fixes for compatibility with Silverlight 2 and Firefox 3
- Improvements to existing samples plus new "Memorabilia" sample
- FlickrDataProvider enhancements (i.e. getPublicPhotos)
Features
- Minimal setup and configuration
- Resizable for any Web page design
- Full-screen and embedded modes
- 100% configurable via XML or your own custom provider
- Slideshow data from XML, Flickr, or your own custom provider
- Auto-playback with numerous transitions (e.g. fade, shape, slide, wipe)
- Cross-browser (e.g. IE 6/7/8, Firefox 2/3, Safari 2/3, PC and Mac)
- Supports Silverlight 1.0 and Silverlight 2
- Open source (e.g. extensible controls, configuration and data provider models, commented code)
Samples
To get started immediately, we recommend that you browse the samples that accompany the source code, including:
- Empty - minimal, empty Slide.Show control
- Flickr - retrieves slideshow data directly from Flickr
- Memorabilia - stylized slideshow from the makers of http://memorabilia.hardrock.com
- Multiple - multiple Slide.Show controls on a single page
- Popup - opens a slideshow in a stretchy window
- Resizable - resizes a Slide.Show control dynamically via script
- Simple - no nonsense, no navigation slideshow
- Tall - vertical layout with custom navigation and album buttons
- Theater - fluid layout with dark theme
- Vertigo - fixed layout with light theme
- Windowless - transparent, floating Slide.Show control (perfect for annoying ads!)

I'm looking at the demo, and am fairly happy so far. Although I need to investigate more, I wanted to also state that this works on Linux/Firefox 2/Novel Moonlight (on this site: http://www.vertigo.com/slideshow.aspx), although not 100% because the fade transitions don't work--probably due to the Moonlight implementation.
