New Post: Images not showing

I cannot get any images to show in my slide show. I have following the How To Guide and the video by Jeff Atwood. All of my coding mirrors what he has done accounting for my folder names, locations, etc., but I cannot get any images to show on the player. The player appears exactly as it is supposed to but no images are displayed.

We want to had slideswhow for our web site

But many people suf in the same time in this site.

We have some problem from data.xml

It-is possible to customize de data source:data.xml ?

We want to create a data.xml for any web user.

sample: we have two web user on hour site in the same time on the same page we want to create datauser1.xml for the first and datauser2.xml for the second it is possible ?

How can i modify the JS script to use this specification ?

Hey guys,

This is a awesome control.

I new to .NET and I played with the control and got it loading images from my file system, but I needed to load images from my DB. After som epainstaking weeks and research and with some help from the folks on this site I was able to accomplish this. I am now pulling images from my DB through a web handler and it is woking great. I am still busy developing my site and will be for a while but when it is completed I will post it for ou to check out.

The information and posts on this site are very helpful. Also check silde.show 2.

New Post: Getting Started - Blank Silver Screen

My web page is only displaying the blank silver screen mentioned in several other discussions in this forum. I checked the problems mentioned in those other discussions, but my page is still not working. I've moved files to web host, made sure pathnames are correct, but no luck. On my web host I have put Silverlight.js, SlideShow.js, Data.xml, Configuration.xml and testpage.htm. I do get comment in explorer along the lines of : "Error: Invalid type: SlideViewer". Is it possible I need different *.js files? (I uploaded the ones form comosite zip file.)

Product looks cool - sorry for bonehead questions - would like to get it running...

Hi,

I need some help!

I am new to asp.net and am trying to work with your code sample here. This is a great control and I can get it pulling images from the file system no problem. What I am trying to do is pull images directly from a database on the fly and am working with your code sample. In another little app that I created I am pulling images from the db and displaying them in a grid view control using a .ashx handler. I am not trying this approach to run a slide show.

Some questions regarding some of the code are:

1 - is this a class that you are calling where you are getting your data Dim objGallery As New Devssphere.Gallery (this is in th edata.ashx code)

2 - is it possible to make available the db tables and columns that you are using so that I can try to understand how all this is wired up.

If you are still available, thanks for your help.

This is probably the best slideshow i've ever seen as a web application. Kudos to development team. It would be pretty cool if there was an admin web app that could create and manage the config and data files. For example, you might have a web UI to create a new album and upload a set of photos. It would also be great if I could use this capabilitiy to tag meta data instead of entering it in the data.xml file directly.

Is there a property to set VerticalAlignment to the top of the window? I believe I've set all references to "mediaRoot" and "SlideViewer" to VerticalAlignment = "Top" and nothing seems to align the Slides to the top of the window. Any advice?

I would like some way to scroll or arrow through the images without thumbnails.

Hi,

I'm trying to get Slide.Show to display images stored in an ftp folder. In my data.xml I've tried

....

slide image="ftp://ftpsitename/pic1.jpg" /> and

slide image="ftpsitename/pic1.jpg" />

....

but neither works.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried deleting your cache? Go to internet options and deleting cookies etc. They are retained and sometimes interfere with resized settings
